The Stoneleigh Stars Swim Team is designed to offer swimmers ages 6-18 an opportunity to compete in a summer league on a developmentally competitive swim team. The team is associated with the Old Dominion Swim League and competes locally during the June and July swim meet season. The Stars strive for personal achievement and development. Visit www.stoneleighstars.com to learn more about the swim team.
We are delighted that Old Dominion Swim League will recommence with a swim season in 2021. Our young swimmers may, once again, participate against other, area swim clubs. Though under some of the same Covid regulations, our kids will still enjoy all that Stoneleigh’s Swim Team has to offer. Swim team registrants may be from 6 to 18 years of age and are expected to be able to swim the length of a 25-meter pool. Swim team practices begin the Tuesday after Memorial Day.
There is much work ahead in operating a swim team season. We require our parents’ involvement to facilitate practices, time trials, and meets. If you register your child for the swim team, you’ll be expected to volunteer at some capacity throughout the season. Old Dominion Swim League rules forbid spectators on deck during swim meets, so volunteering your time will keep you close to all the action, which is exciting and rewarding.
This year we welcome Emma York as Coach of our Stoneleigh Stars. Emma was our team’s assistant coach last year, and she swam for many years as a part Stoneleigh Stars Swim Team. Emma will be reaching out to all registrants with schedules and league information as the season approaches. We are incredibly happy to have Emma coach our ‘Stars’ this year.
Registration is now open, ready, and set on the Stoneleigh Stars website stoneleighstars.com and must be completed by new and returning athletes. The cost for the swim season is $150 per child and will be billed to your Club membership account. Stoneleigh swim team is open to Members only.
We look forward to a wonderful and competitive season in the Pool!
